Young stalks can be candied for decorating cakes and deserts, or eat fresh leaves In salads. Produces big bright green leaves in first year which die down then reappears in second year with its tall majestic flowerheads. Brilliant architectural plant, position near the back of the border. 

Type: Hardy Biennial, but will last for many years if it is preventef from flowering and self seeding.
